FreeUndelete is a free data recovery software for deleted files. It can rescue files accidentally deleted from an NTFS, FAT32 or FAT16 drive. FreeUndelete lives up to both halves of its name, undeleting your files and doing it for free: free of charge, free of adware, free of spyware. FreeUndelete is free for personal use.
Using FreeUndelete is pretty easy, select the drive to recover the deleted file ans scan it. This software works on the principal that deleted file is essentially an area on disk designated as free and ready to accept data and it its not overwritten by any other data, it can be recovered.
Better would be to find an app which can recover a file from a formatted disk. Many apps offer that, but none are the best for that…
i found one recently…
@TechPavan,
Not sure whether this can recover from formatted disk.
can it also recover deleted data from a pen drive?
@Abhishek,
I think it should be able to do it from pen drives as well, but I have not tested. I think if the pen drive is not over written it should be able to recover it.
