Most of the time we cannot be sure whether the links we click could be any phishing scam or malicious sites, so its always good to have a preview of links before you click them. Interclue is a Firefox addon which will give you complete details of the link before you click it. Hover your mouse pointer over the link, and a Linkclue icon will appear and when you keep the mouse pointer over the icon a popup window appears giving you complete summary of the link.
On the top of the window, there are links to bookmark the link, navigate to link, email and many other options. The buttons available at the top of the pop up window can be customized from the Interclue options. You can add or delete any button available in the options.
Interclue can give you;
- A text content summary
- A small snapshot of the page
- Sizes and dates of linked files
- Useful stats and metadata
- More options like email, bookmark etc
Another option is to pin the Interclue popup which means the window will stay on one place and will show the information whenever you hover over any link. Whenever the link is found to have any problems Interclue will give necessary warning before proceeding.
Interclue Firefox extension is definitely worth trying for the usefulness and features of this add-on for safe browsing. Although this add-on is designed for Firefox, it should also work fine with Flock browser.
This add-on would come handy to check the links that usually come in the name of big companies like Paypal etc. but are actually some malicious sites.
Good share Nirmal 🙂
