WebWait is a free web application which will help you to find the speed or load time of any website. It tells precisely how long the website takes to load and render in your browser, including any images, stylesheets, and Javascript. WebWait claims that timing shown is accurate because WebWait pulls down the entire website into your browser, so it takes into account Ajax/Javascript processing and image loading which other tools ignore.
WebWait can do multiple requests for load time and you can set the interval for checking the load time. The results of the load time are shown as in below. WebWait also displays your website in a separate frame in the main page.
The advantages of using Webwait is that the load times are more accurate and it also takes into consideration cookies and authentication, this means you can even check the load time of an authenticated page. It can also access servers running on your machine or behind the firewall in the your LAN, unlike most external services.
To get more realistic data, just run only the browser window, and ensure that there are no major operating system delays, such as hard drive swapping which is going to affect the browser’s performance.
