Burning Mill Express is a free CD/DVD burning application for Windows with good features need for a burning software. The interface of Burning Mill Express is also good and looks similar in function to Nero Express. It offers a wide range of powerful features; all through an easy to use application interface and Windows Explorer integration. Burning Mill Express uses the cdrtools software to perform the actual burning.
You can add Burning Mills to the Windows Explorer right click menu from the options. To burn files, you can drag and drop it from the file explorer.
Features of Burning Mill;
- Create custom data, audio and mixed-mode projects and record them to physical discs as well as disc images. Supports recording to dual-layer DVDs.
- Blank (erase) rewritable discs using four different methods. Record disc images (ISO and BIN/CUE).
- Fixate discs (write lead-out information to prevent further data from being added to the disc). Scan the SCSI/IDE bus for devices and collect information about their capabilities.
- Create disc copies, on the fly and using a temporary disc image. Import session data from multi-session discs and add more sessions to them.
- Display disc information.
- Save audio and data tracks to files (.wav, .wma, .ogg, .mp3 and .iso).
it seems to me that there’s another similar tool (in terms of functionality and gui too!). i do notice that infrarecoder released under gpl.

@noris,
Burning Mill is build on Infra recorder which is under GPL. Not sure whether its copying. Does Infra recorder have a express version?
@nirmal
yes they do. as matter of fact, its my preferred application for cd burning (ever since i ditched nero). they are the only opensource software that came as close as nero (which everyone loves for its simplicity and user-friendliness)
