Microsoft has already confirmed that Windows 7 is on target to be released in time for the holiday season this year, but nothing is known about the pricing plans of Windows 7. Meanwhile Tech ARP is reporting that Microsoft will be revealing the prices of Windows 7, which consumers would have to pay for using Windows 7, towards the mid of June. We also have confirmed reports from Acer that Windows 7 is coming on October 23 2009.
OEMs are already aware of the price of Windows 7 and this can be confirmed from the fact that Dell has recently announced that the licensing tiers for Windows 7 retail are more expensive than they were for Vista. Dell also opinioned that cost will be quite a major obstacle for consumers going for Windows 7.
Few months ago, Ars Technica has revealed some leaked pricing of Windows 7 from some anonymous sources, now we will wait and see how much close the pricing comes to.
We have only few more weeks before the scheduled announcement of public pricing plans of Windows 7 from Microsoft.
