Protecting your personal and confidential files is always a big task as you need to select the right type of protection. Protect Me is a freeware tool which can be used to protect your personal and confidential files. It creates a secure executable container for your files which are encrypted. You can add any files and directories you want to and your files will be stored securely inside the container file.
You can drag and drop files into the interface and it shows the size of the files. To ensure a maximum of security, it uses SHA1 for password validation and AES for encryption. The container file can either run or extract your files once you typed in the right password.
Features:
- Easily password-protect any file you want
- You get one .exe file which contains the encrypted file(s)
- The result will be just a few KB bigger than the encrypted files themselves
- SHA1 for password validation and AES for your data
- The container file is compiled at runtime
was just wondering what kind of traces an encrypted executable container leaves on a pc where it gets executed to extract the files?
Thanks
