Windows 7 has a pretty good file searching tool, but if you are looking for a freeware tool to search files in your PC, then WinSearchFile is a good option. This application is very useful when Windows Explorer doesn’t work fine, especially when you try to find text contained into files. WinSearchFile is a simple and fast enough application to search files in your PC. The layout is quite similar to the Windows Explorer where you can input your search parameters.
It is possible to write a pattern search (wildcards admitted) and/or a text to search into file contents (you can also decide for a case sensitive search). You can select the drives where searching is to be done and also other parameters like creation date, last accessed date etc.
You can also implement search with installed filters and use directories for searching instead of drives.
