OneNote 2010 is an amazing note taking application included in Office 2010 and it has lots of features making it very similar to paper notebooks. OneNote runs several operations in the background such as indexing, notebook syncing and handwriting recognition. These features can drain on your laptop battery and in case you do not need them frequently, you can modify the default setting and improve battery life and conserve some of that power for other tasks.
To conserve battery power, open File tab and select options.
In the options, select the Advanced tab and under the Battery Options, select Maximum battery Life from the list.
OneNote 2010 will now be optimized for better battery usage.
