Windows comes with a default search which is powerful, but comes with lesser options. UltraSearch is a freeware tool which allows you to easily search files and folders in NTFS hard drives. UltraSearch does not use a background process to built an index, it achieves its speed by working directly on the Master File Table (MFT) of the NTFS partitions. You can enter a file name or a pattern like *.exe and will see the results already while typing.
You can add filters to the search so that these areas will not be searched for, example recycle bin. There is an option to exclude filters while searching.
The search results shows pretty good amount of information like file size, location, file type, last accessed parameters etc.
The search results can also be printed or exported as text, RTF, HTML, CSV and Excel file.
