Generally most of us does not forget the commonly used email password, but in case you are handling too many accounts then there are chances that you end up forgetting the email password. In case you have forgotten or lost your Windows Live Hotmail password, there isn’t anything to panic, you can easily recover the password using the Windows Live help. Recover a Lost Windows Live Hotmail Password
To reset your Windows Live Hotmail password and create a new when you have forgotten your old:
- Go to the Windows Live Hotmail password reset page and select the Forgot password option.
- Then type in your Windows Live Hotmail address under Windows Live ID.
- You will need to provide account information and answer your secret question and follow the onscreen steps mentioned.
Recover Password saved in Windows Live Messenger/ Windows Live Mail (Desktop app).
If you were using Windows Live Messenger or Windows Live Mail (desktop app) and saved the Hotmail password, you can retrieve it using free tools like Mail PassView (for Windows Live Mail) or Messenger PassView (for MSN/ Live Messenger). These app can recover passwords only if you have saved it.
Recover Password When all the methods fail
If you were unable to recover password using the above methods and you do not have a secondary email configured and also does not remember your secret question, you can still reset the password using Windows Live help. Open the Windows Live Help password recovery page, use this method only if you have tried the other steps. Follow the steps mentioned, the Live help team will create a private forum (temporary one) and there you will be asked additional questions, supply additional information and find the results of their investigation.
You need to provide a working email to recover password using this method.
Once you have recovered the password, open the account settings page and make necessary changes to your account.
