Rarlabs has released the new version of its popular compression tool WinRAR 4.0. WinRAR is one of the popular file compression tool and it gives pretty good results with compression. The new version has better speed and depending on data type, decompression can be up to 30% faster than in previous versions. The general RAR algorithm and most of special RAR multimedia methods benefit from this improvement.
Another feature of the new version is that it brings a password manager that allows you to better handle the most used countersigns. So when you need a password for a regular compression job all you have to do is pick one from the stored list. When unpacking multiple archives you can now set WinRAR to use the same password for extracting them.
There are also changes regarding the way data is extracted as the latest version of the program features the possibility to extract relative paths instead of full ones.
WinRAR is available in both 32 bit and 64 bit editions and in multiple languages.
