When you copy and paste files and folders on Windows hard drive or CD drives, there is a transfer speed associated with it. There is no direct way to measure the read and write speed on hard drives, CD drives and also network drives. Parkdale is a freeware tool for Windows which allows you to measure the read and write speed. You can find the transfer speed for hard disks, cd rom devices and network servers.
When you run the tool, it displays all the disk drives available on your Windows and you can select the drive and run the tool to determine the read and write speed of your hard disk. Further you can adjust the block size used to access the disk.
You can also use the file access mode where the test data is read from/written into a normal file using the file system. Another mode is the Block Access mode where the test data is read from/written onto the disk directly without using the file system.
Overall ParkDale is a nice tool to determine the read and write speed on Windows hard drives, CD/DVD drives and network drives. The app works on Windows 7 as well.
is it possible to prove that a particular cd is writtern from a particular computer?
