Google had recently announced Google Takeout which lets you download your Google data. This service was provided by Data Liberation Front which is a team within Google dedicated to making sure users can get their information in and out of Google products. Now they have released a new service, Google Tasks Porter which allows you to import and export Google tasks. Google Tasks Porter is designed with other applications that contain task lists in mind and the tool supports import and export via the iCalendar format and also Microsoft Outlook via a CSV format.
You need to authenticate the service to access your Google tasks. Once authenticated, you can take a snap shot of your current tasks. From the snapshot, you can export it to various formats.
Export can be done in HTML, iCalendar, Outlook, Remember the Milk formats. The snap shot shows the details of when it was taken and the number of tasks included in it. When you have more than one snapshots, you can view them from the “view snapshots” option.
There is also option to import it from other formats which includes Outlook and iCalendar formats.
You can also save or delete these snapshots taken. The service is available on the web at http://google-tasks-porter.appspot.com.
