Google Takeout is a service which Google announced back in July last year, which allowed users to take a quick backup of Picasa, Contacts, Buzz, +1s etc. We have also covered how to use Google’s +1 and takeout as a bookmarking service. Today, Google has added Google Docs to the service, which means users can take a complete backup of their Google Docs files to their PC. The service shows you the number of files available and the size of the file before actually exporting them.
You can click on the new “Configure” menu if you’d like to choose different formats for your documents. For example, you can specify the formats for different files before exporting them.
This is pretty handy feature for all Google Docs users to have a backup of all the files on the local PC. You can access the service here- https://www.google.com/takeout/?pli=1#custom:docs
