Back in 2010, we had written about a freeware tool, iPhone Explorer, to create ringtones for iPhone and also to manage files in iPhone, iPad and iPod. The same tool has been updated and released under new name iDevice Manager. This free tool lets you create personal ringtones from MP3 songs for the iPhone and will also enable you to download or upload music, photos, videos or ringtones from or to your iPhone, iPad or iPod. If you have a jailbroken iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad, then you can access all the emails, SMS (iPhone) and iMessage using the device.
Once you connect the device, it instantly recognizes it and you can access the music, movies, photos and ringtones. There is a ringtone editor inbuilt in the app. Further, you can look into the file system of your iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and upload files by USB connection, regardless of whether file format. Within this function can use your iPhone/iPad/iPod as “external disk”.
