Android’s latest version, the Ice Cream Sandwich (ICS) or Android 4.0 was launched back in October 2011 along with Google’s flagship phone Galaxy Nexus. Galaxy Nexus is probably one of the best smartphones available as of today and we had reviewed it on this blog. ICS has lots of changes and new features when compared to previous GingerBread version and also comes with a new refreshing UI and icons. With the release of ICS, there has been a number of apps released based on the ICS theme and also optimized for ICS, based on the features.
In this article, we will cover some of the must have awesome apps worth trying on your Android ICS phone or tablet.
Note: Some of these apps are also compatible with previous Android versions and some of them are not available for tablets.
1. Chrome for Android:
Back in February, Google had released the mobile version of Chrome for Android phones. The interface of the new Chrome for Android is very simplistic and yet has lots of features. Like the desktop version, Chrome for Android Beta is also focused on speed and simplicity and one of the most important feature is seamless sign-in and sync so you can take your personalized web browsing experience with you wherever you go, across devices.

2. Notes for ICS with Tasks sync:
This is a notes & tasks free app for all Ice Cream Sandwich devices with Google Tasks sync. A notepad and to do app with both phone and tablet UI. It syncs with your existing Google account to keep your notes and tasks backed up in the cloud without requiring you to input any passwords.
3. Boid:
Boid is an upcoming Twitter app for ICS phones which is currently in alpha. Boid has been designed for Android 4.0 with Ice Cream Sandwich in mind. Designed to be intuitive and fun to use, it packs a lot of features with a nice UI with support for themes.
4. Dropbox:
Dropbox needs no mention as it is one of the popular cloud storage services available. The new Dropbox for Android, which was released back in December, is a massive overhaul of the UI and it now looks awesome and is also more cleaner.
5. ICS Browser +:
This is yet another browser app for Android ICS phones. This is based on the stock ICS browser, this browser adds some handy extra functions like auto text reflow after pinch to zoom, Gesture support, Option to create extra quick controls and also setting the user agent on the browser. 6. AirDroid:
AirDroid is a fast, free app that lets you wirelessly manage & control your Android device from a web browser Over-The-Air. This is one of the must have apps on any Android phone to transfer files to and from the phone using your web browser. The phone and browser needs to be connected to the same WiFi network.
7. File Explorer:
As the name indicates, it is open source file manager for Android Phones and Tablets with support for ICS. The interface is clean and simple and easy to use as well.
