Recently we had covered about freeware apps which lets you install multiple applications and tools on Windows in one go. Soft2Base is a similar free tool which provides users auto-updated catalog of free software, it will highlights out-dated or missing applications and propose to download and install them in a single step.
This app can be used the same way as the apps we covered previously, it can add tools to your new Windows setups but also to upgrade already installed application. When you run this portable app, it populates the list of all supported applications grouped into different categories. There’s only 61 apps as of now, but the app includes plenty of big names, including Adobe Reader, Firefox, Google Earth, Firefox, iTunes, Thunderbird, CCleaner etc.
Each application has a color icon associated with it. A green equals sign if the current version is already installed, a purple download icon if a new version is available, and a blue plus sign to tell you that it isn’t installed right now.
The app can automatically update all the installed app or add new apps to your collection. Adding new apps is also pretty easy.
The application has many positives like simple interface, portable and major apps are listed. The problem for Soft2Base is limited number of apps (even though big names are includes), only 61.
