Microsoft has just rebranded its webmail service, Hotmail as Outlook. The new email service is formally christened Outlook.com and sports a full metro UI. Unlike the original Hotmail, the new Outlook has many new features including the fully redesigned UI, social networking integration including Twitter and Facebook. You can also get you new email ID with @outlook.com. Users can now start upgrading to new Outlook or even start creating a new Email address.
The new Outlook has 4 tabs, Email, People or the contacts, calendar and the Skydrive integration.
The interface has changed vastly and you can now get a cleaner look which is easier to read with less ads. Outlook can sync with your Facebook and Twitter accounts to and fetch the contacts and photos for you inside the email.
You can also start a messenger conversation using the sidebar and this can be initiated from the top navigation bar.
Overall, the new Outlook looks very much promising with its features. Since this is a preview version, we can expect more tweaks and features coming soon.
