While the network settings in Windows does provide you with an option to view all the network adaptors, the new freeware tool from Nirsoft presents it in a simpler way. NetworkInterfacesView is a simple and portable tool for Windows that displays the list of all network adapters/interfaces installed on your system. It displays network interfaces that are currently active, as well as network interfaces that have been installed previously, and now they are not connected (like USB wireless network adapters).
The app pulls out details from the Windows registry.
It fetches the Device Name, Connection Name, IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default Gateway, DHCP Server, Status, MAC Address etc from the registry settings. You can double click on any item from the list and then get detailed information.
This utility works on any version of Windows, starting from Windows 2000 and up to Windows 8. Both 32-bit and 64-bit systems are supported. You can also export the list to excel or HTML file.
