Ever since the release of iPad back in 2010, tablets have been gaining more popularity. The rise of iPad has forced most the of manufacturers to release tablets. Tablets are now getting more and more competition as almost all PC manufacturers are busy releasing tablets. HP has announced two new tablets (hybrids), one Android based and second is a Windows 8 hybrid. HP Split x2 is the new Windows 8 hybrid which can be used a tablet or a regular laptop. The HP SlateBook x2 and Split x2 joins HP ENVY x2 as part of HP’s detachable PC portfolio.
HP Split x2:
The HP Split x2 is a versatile, two-in-one detachable PC that combines power and portability with the Windows 8 operating system and powerful 3rd generation Intel Core processor family. It comes with a 13-inch display and is ultra portable. You can use it as a tablet by removing it from the keyboard or use it as a laptop.

HP Split X2 will be available for a price of $799 and this includes the keyboard as well. The expected availability date is August 2013.
HP Slatebook X2:
The HP SlateBook x2 is the first Android detachable device with the NVIDIA Tegra 4 mobile processor, providing users more realistic gaming, fast web browsing and smooth high-definition (HD) video playback. Slatebook X2 will compliment the HP Slate in Android segment of HP. Slatebook X2 has pretty good specs and features and more importantly the keyboard is included in the box and not as a separate accessory like many other products. The keyboard has an additional battery extending the overall device battery.
