Smart watches are now getting more and more popular especially after the tremendous success of Pebble which was successfully funded last year. We also have rumors of Apple, Samsung, Google, Microsoft and others working on their own smart watches.
Similar to Mobile phones, the current trend is to add more and more new features and technologies into smart watch. We had covered some of the best smart watches available as of now and we also expect 2013 could see more of them.
Having said that, a new Smart watch project has been launched on Kickstarter. The new watch named AGENT has quite a of features. It is a next generation smartwatch with brand-new technology, world-class developer tools, unparalleled battery life, Qi wireless charging.
The best feature of AGENT is of course the way it communicates with your smartphone. There is an app for iOS, Android and Windows Phone, so you can sync all of them with your watch. It comes with both unparalleled battery life and powerful watch apps. With two-way communication to smartphones and amazing developer tools that you can download today.
AGENT talks to your smartphone using Bluetooth, enabling convenient control of your music library and acting as a wrist-based display for smartphone apps. AGENT also displays incoming calls and notifications. And it vibrates to let you know when you’ve accidentally left your phone behind. It is compatible with iPhone 4S or newer, Android 2.3+ and Windows Phone 8.
AGENT uses a new 1.28″ Sharp Memory Display which combines the best aspects of both technologies: fast animations; high clarity outdoor-readable display; and ultra-low (~20uA) power consumption. AGENT will also feature wireless charging based on Qi.
The battery life of AGENT is also good, 7 days of battery life with Bluetooth and 30 days of battery life in watchface-only mode.
Here is a quick video of AGENT.
The project is available on Kickstarter and if you feel the watch is worth the money, you can pledge for the project. There are different options available (with and without wireless chargers). More information can be found on the project page.
