Google had announced early this year that Google Reader will be shut down on July 1st. This came as a shocking news for many who depended on this free web service to catch up with all the exciting RSS feeds. We had covered quite a lot of free alternatives available for Google Reader once it closes down next week. Nextgen Reader is one of the best feed readers available for Windows 8 and it initially supported Google Reader. But now the developers of Nextgen Reader has updated the app to support Feedly.
Feedly had released a cloud based RSS reader which can import the subscriptions from Google Reader. Now with the support of Feedly in Nextgen Reader, you can continue to read your Google Reader RSS feeds in the metro UI.
Once you have updated the app, you can see the option to sign in using Feedly account. If you have already create a Feedly cloud account, you can simply login and start reading the feeds. If not, you can still sign up and import all the feeds from Google Reader.
This is really exciting news for all Windows 8 users as they can easily use their existing Google Reader RSS feeds in Nextgen Reader.
