Foursquare has released its first desktop app, Foursquare for Windows 8 and is now available for download. Foursquare for Windows 8 was first announced at the BUILD conference 2 months back. Foursquare was launched four years ago, and is today available on Android, iOS, BlackBerry, BlackBerry 10 and Windows Phone 8 platforms and this is the first major release for a desktop OS.
With this release Foursquare users will be able to check in to their favourite locations from Windows 8 tablets and laptops.
The app has a beautiful metro UI and also easy to use interface. When you first log in to Foursquare for Windows 8, you’ll see your last check-in displayed right up front. It will also use your location to show you places of interest near-by.
You can swipe from the bottom or right-click to bring up the app commands – for quick access to your lists, friends, or to check-in to some place.
We will have a detailed review of the app later. Meanwhile you can download the app on your Windows 8 tablets and desktop and try it out.
