Android has its own default way to switch apps using the option on phones and you get a vertical list with all the open apps and you can easily switch between them. While the default app switching options is pretty ok, you can always have better ways to switch apps on Android. Switchr is a new app switcher for Android which gives better ways to switch apps.
Switchr allows you to quickly switch between apps by swiping on the edge of the screen. You can either configure the left edge or the right edge. There is also option to select the style or the switcher theme.
Once you install the app, you can set the preferences like which position to swipe to enable Switchr and also the theme. There are two styles available to choose from. There are quite a lot of settings to choose for Switchr app. The app will be released officially on October 20th and the current build is a beta version.

Overall, we feel Switchr does the job well without any issues, but whether you need Switchr to replace the default app switcher on Android is a question of personal choices. More details on the app can be found here, including the download links.
