One of main feature or improvement in Android 4.4 KitKat was to Google Now. Google rolled out the “Ok Google” feature, which allows you to perform touchless search on your phone using voice commands. This was initially available for Moto X and later released with Nexus 5 when Android 4.4 was announced.
Nexus 5 users will have the ability to set hot keywords as a means of searching with Google. But Google Now with “Ok Google” feature is available only US, but with a simple hack you can get it on your Nexus 5.
To get this, press and hold on the home screen and select settings from the option available. Now select Voice from the settings.
Change the language in the Voice to English (US) from your language which has been set by the phone automatically. Once you have set to English (US), you can see the option Hotword detection in the Voice settings. If it is not enabled, click to enable it. Now you can start using “Ok Google” voice search. From the home screen, you can simply say “Ok Google” to activate the voice search.
Here is the video demo on how to do it and how “Ok Google” feature works.
