Design, Build and Display:
The build quality of the device is pretty good and comes with a glossy back over which is removable. The 4.0 inch display is pretty good for its price, but the viewing angles aren’t great. On the design front, the device comes with the same buttons you would find on any Android phone. There is volume keys, power button, 3.5 mm jack and also the micro USB charging slot. At the back there is the 3.2MP camera along with speakers.
Performance:
The device comes with Android 4.2 out of the box and the performance is pretty good. Do not expect to do big tasks with this phone as it is an entry level device to experience Android. There is no lag on the device, but it is not good for gaming as the hardware on the device is pretty basic and comes with only 512MB RAM. There isn’t much customization to Android 4.2 on the device, but runs on a custom version from Panasonic.
There are few bundled apps included it in. The phone comes with support for dual SIM cards, both supporting 3G, but you can toggle only one at a time. The call quality is good on the phone and so is the signal strength. The 3G speeds are also decent for the device in this category.
Camera:
The camera on the device is a 3.2 MP shooter and this is just an average shooter for an entry level device. The camera works pretty decently when used outdoors and the low light performance is not good as there is quite a lot of noise added. Here are some shots taken using the camera.
Here is a video taken using the camera.
Battery:
The battery on this device is at 1300mAh and it lasts for a day with average usage along with a 3G SIM. When you use dual SIM mode, the battery life will be a bit lower than with single SIM.
Verdict:
Overall, the Panasonic T31 is a good entry level Android phone which comes with decent specs, good build quality and good performance. At Rs 6999, the device makes pretty good value for money if you want to get started with Android.
