At the unpacked event in IFA 2014 in Berlin, Samsung has announced the next generation of Note series, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The device comes with a 5.7-inch Quad HD (2560×1440) Super AMOLED display reproduces clearer and more vivid images with deep contrast, better viewing angles, and response times as fast as a millionth of a second, providing a great viewing experience.
It is powered by either a quad-core or octa-core processor, depending on market. It’s paired with 3GB of RAM and has 32GB of storage. There’s a microSD slot for expansion, and the 3,220mAh battery. The battery can change from 0 to 50% in 30 minutes. Note 4 comes with Android 4.4.4 KitKat and has Samsung’s UI which is more polished and looks similar to Android L.
Note 4 has an aluminium finish running around the device. The S Pen is inserted into the device from the right bottom corner. The phone also comes with a 16MP rear camera which has auto focus and smart OIS. The front camera is 3.7MP unit with f1.9 and has wide angle selfie option. Samsung has also improved the S Pen software and it now comes with Action Memo, Smart Select, Image Clip, Screen Write.
It also comes with wide range of sensors including Gesture, Accelerometer, Geo-magnetic, Gyroscope, RGB, IR-LED, Proximity, Barometer, Hall Sensor, Finger Scanner, UV, Heart Rate Monitoring, SpO2 (Dependent on market). On the connectivity front, Note 4 comes with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, dual-band, Wi-Fi Direct, DLNA, Wi-Fi hotspot, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS with GLOSNASS and 4G LTE support.
Price and Availability:
There is no mention on the pricing of the device as of now. The device will go on sale in October and will be available in Charcoal Black, Frost White, Bronze Gold and Blossom Pink in global markets. We expect the Note 4 to be priced in lines in Note 3.
