Google has today officially announced the new Nexus series smartphone and tablet. Google has made this announcement via a blog post instead of having any official launch events. Along with the announcement, Google also launched the new Android version, the Lollipop which will be the default OS on these new devices.
The new Nexus 6 comes with a 6-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels and a pixel density of 496ppi. The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset with 2.65GHz quad-core CPU and features 3GB of RAM. This time, Google hasn’t really compromised on the camera and the device sports a 13 megapixel f/2.0 rear camera with optical image stabilization and dual-LED flash. There is also 2 megapixel front facing shooter. The storage on the device is at 32GB or 64GB.
The large screen is complemented by dual front-facing stereo speakers that deliver high-fidelity sound, making it as great for movies and gaming as it is for doing work. It also comes with a Turbo Charger, so you can get up to six hours of use with only 15 minutes of charge. The battery capacity is at 3,200mAh and it comes in two colors- Midnight Blue and Cloud White.

Nexus 6 Price and Release:
Unlike the previous generation Nexus phones, this will not be cheap and will carry a premium price tag which is kind of expected with the hardware shipped with the device. The unlocked version will cost $649 which approximately converts to Rs 40000 in INR and this falls into the premium category of flagship devices. Pre-order for the device starts October 29th with shipping slated for some time in November.
The new Nexus tablet is made by HTC and called Nexus 9 and will come with 8.9? display and a resolution of 2048×1536 screen. It runs on 64-bit Tegra K1 Processor with 2GB of RAM. The tablet is offered in 16GB and 32GB configuration. It also features 8 MP rear camera and a 1.6 MP Front facing camera. It runs on Android Lollipop and has 6700 mAH battery.

There is no mention on the pricing of Nexus 9. Nexus 9 will be available for pre-order on October 17 and in stores starting November 3.
