Most of us use laptops and desktop for our personal work and these devices always require a good speaker unit in case you consume lot of multimedia content. The default speakers on branded desktops and laptops are not of great quality and the best way to improve the output is to get a 2.1 speaker unit. The market has tons of options for a 2.1 speaker. Today we take a look at one of them, the F&D W330X speakers with built-in Bluetooth capability along with features like USB and micro SD card playback.
The 56W RMS multimedia speakers are customized for home entertainment experience and is a great speaker for plug and play experience. We have the W330X Bluetooth speaker for review.
Design and Build Quality:
The W330X looks pretty good with the design and build quality. The satellites units are cubes that rest on one corner giving it a base instead of having a separate one. The woofer unit is similar to any other 2.1 speaker available in the market and made of wood and has a cubical shape. There is a large volume key which is kind of backlit. The volume dial sits on a glossy panel giving it a premium feel.
On the side, you have the controls and there are two smaller dials for bass and treble and buttons for source selection which includes Bluetooth, USB or microSD card. The satellites ones are pretty light weight and have good build quality. These units are connected to the woofer using RCA cables included in the box.
Overall, the entire speaker setup looks decent and does give a premium feel.
Features:
Unlike normal 2.1 speakers, the W330X has few good features. The first and most important one is that it can stream music through any connected device through Bluetooth. So you can pair your smartphones, laptops or tablets using Bluetooth and stream the music without having to use the cables. Apart from this, the speaker can also play songs from USB driver or even microSD card. There is the slot for these two and you can switch the source using the button available at the back.
So using the W330X you can play directly from a pen drive. You can also play songs using the input cables provided. So you can basically connect TVs, DVD players or any other music players.
Performance:
Connecting the speaker to a Bluetooth device is very simple process, all you need to do is to long press the source button and it will start blinking. At this point, you will be able to see W330X listed on the Bluetooth device. You can easily connect to the speakers from there. In case you don’t want to pair the smartphone, you can also connect using USB or microSD card.
We tested the device for its performance on various conditions. The audio quality from the device was pretty good. The speaker is suited for small rooms, the performance is great when used inside small rooms. The Bass performance was also good. If you are playing songs from a USB or a SD card, the speaker has controls to skip to previous or next track. Since this has pretty good options for playing music wirelessly and also USB or Micro SD card, we would have ideally liked a small remote to change tracks when playing from USB.
Apart from the plug and play capabilities using USB and SD card, the speaker can play music from MP3 player, PC, TV, CD, DVD and other devices. The the speaker also supports MP3/WMA dual formats to play your choice of music.
Verdict:
Priced at Rs 3999, the W330X is a nice addition to your work space. The amount of features and playback options W330X offers is really good. With good sound quality, design and build, the F&D W330X is a good buy at the price. You can buy it from the link below.
