Early this year, OnePlus announced their first flagship killer smartphone called the OnePlus One and was available only through an invite system as they were producing devices in limited numbers. The company has now announced their entry into Indian mobile market and launched the OnePlus One in India. The device is exclusively available on Amazon India, but can be purchased only though the India specific invite system.
The phone comes with 5.5 inch Full HD display and has Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection. The device is powered by 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor and has 3GB RAM. The phone also comes with 13MP rear camera and supports 4K video recording. The internal memory for the Indian variant is 64GB although there is also a 16GB variant which is not released in India.
Although officially OnePlus One runs on CyanogenMod 11S based on Android KitKat, the Indian variant will have a custom UI from the company since Cyanogen has signed an exclusive deal with Micromax for Cyanogen based phones in India. So OnePlus will not be able to use it on their phones sold in India. The company has already clarified that a new build based on Android Lollipop will be available some time in February next year.
