Along with the announcement of ASUS Zenfone 2, the company also unveiled a camera centric smartphone called the Zenfone Zoom. ASUS claims that the Zenfone Zoom is world’s thinnest 3X optical zoom on a smartphone. ZenFone Zoom is engineered to embed 10-element lenses for 3X Optical Zoom while still keep the device as thin as 11.95mm. It’s the world’s thinnest 3X optical smartphone offering up to 12X zoom-in effect.
The Zenfone Zoom looks very similar to the Lumia 1020 as it has the circular camera unit at the rear. Spec wise, the Zenfone Zoom comes with the same 5.5 inch Full HD IPS LCD display and is powered by 2.3GHz Quad Core 64 bit processor from Intel (Z3580) with 2GB/ 4GB of RAM.
The camera is the highlight of the Zenfone Zoom and it features 10-element lenses with 3X optical zoom, optical image stabilization (OIS), laser auto-focus and dual-color Real Tone flash, PixelMaster features: Low Light mode / Backlight (HDR) mode / Enhanced Beautification mode / Manual mode / Zero shutter lag.
