Design wise, the phone looks pretty good. Even though there is a 5.5 inch display, the device feels light especially when you compare it with Redmi Note (Unboxing). The power button is on the right side, while the volume keys are on the left. The 3.5mm audio jack is on the top and the micro USB charging slot along with microphone sits on the bottom. The rear panel has the 13MP camera with LED flash, YU branding and the speakers at the bottom. The front panel houses the 5.5 inch IPS LCD HD display and above it you have the front camera and the usual set of sensors.
The display on the device is a 5.5 inch IPS HD display (1280 X720P) with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The display is pretty vibrant and sharp and the touch response is good. The viewing angles are also good since it has IPS display. Unlike the Redmi Note 4G which supports only single SIM card, Yureka has dual SIM card and there is micro SD expansion slot upto 32GB.
The build quality and fit and finish on the device looks pretty good and it comes in moon dust grey color. The device is powered by Octa Core 615 processor from Qualcomm Snapdragon with 2GB RAM. The performance on the first boot looks impressive and the UI has good amount of options. It runs Cyanogen 11.0 based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat and Lollipop upgrade for the device should be available in few months.
The camera interface of the device is impressive and there is pretty good amount of options available. The phone comes with 16GB internal storage and out of which 12.62GB is available in the first boot.
Overall, for a price of Rs 8999, the device looks solid especially the features it offers and will give tough competition for Redmi Note. We will have the detailed review coming up on our blog soon, meanwhile do check out our YouTube channel for more videos on this device.
