Microsoft has announced the new features in Windows 10 at the event in Redmond yesterday and also detailed the new interface of Windows 10 for phones and tablets. Along with this announcement company also announced, the new version of Office for Windows 10 which will be pre-installed on phones and will have a unified interface. In the coming version of Office for Windows, the main aspect would be touch experience.
Office for Windows 10 offers touch-optimized versions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook that work great on small screen devices like your phone and tablet. These new Office apps will come pre-installed for free on phones and small tablets running Windows 10, and for other devices. they will be available to download from the Windows Store.
The Office team has today announced the new chapter in Office called the Office 2016, which will have the desktop applications for PC and comes with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and Outlook for Windows 10. Office 2016 is best suited for a PC with keyboard and mouse. Office 2016 will have the following apps

- Excel
- PowerPoint
- OneNote
- Outlook
As of now we do not have any info on how the Office 2016 will look like, but expect some changes to the interface with new features. Meanwhile, here are some of the screenshots of Office for Windows 10.
One of the major change will be for Outlook as shown in the demo of Windows 10. Outlook for Windows 10 on phones will have a completely new interface and will sync with the desktop version for email and appointments. The Word’s familiar and rich capabilities are now built into the authoring experience in Outlook. The same will happen for other apps on Windows 10 for phones.
The Office universal apps will be available with the Windows 10 Technical Preview in the coming weeks and general availability is on track for later this year.
Microsoft has mentioned that Office 2016 will be available in the second half of 2015 in probably preview version and final version expected in 2016.
