After announcing Mi3, Redmi 1S and the Redmi Note (3G and 4G) in India, Xiaomi has today announced their latest flagship device, the Mi4 in India. The Mi4 was announced officially last July in China and comes with a 5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display with 441 PPI. The display is based one-glass solution (OGS) made by Sharp / JDI.
The device is powered by a 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor with Adreno 330 GPU. The phone comes with 3GB RAM and has 16GB internal storage. It runs on MIUI version 6 on top of Android 4.4 (KitKat). On the imaging front, it has a 13MP rear camera with flash and a 8MP front-facing camera.
The phone is made of a stainless steel frame, 67.5mm-wide body and weighs just 149 grams. The display has Corning Gorilla glass 3 protection. One of the downside for the phone is that it does not have a micro SD expansion support, so you are left with 16GB. Apart from this, there is no 4G LTE support on this device, although Xiaomi has a version which supports 4G. More details on the phone available here.
The 3080mAh battery should last more than a day and will also support fast charging. The phone will compete with other high end devices like the Lenovo Vibe X2 and the Honor 6 with slightly better specs than the Mi4.
