HP has announced a new powerful and premium ultrabook, called the spectre X360 and will give tough competition to Macbook Book Air. The HP Spectre x360 is comes with 13.3-inch touchscreen with 1080p or Quad HD resolution. It is powered by either Intel Core i5 or i7 Broadwell processor.
It also includes either 4GB or 8GB of RAM and an SSD ranging in size from 128GB to 512GB. Similar to Dell XPS 1, the important feature of this laptop is the battery performance. HP says that it’ll be able to power all of that for anywhere from 10 to 12.5 hours, even with the high-res displays.
Similar to HP’s own budget x360 series, the Spectre x360 can be rotated full 360 degrees like the Yoga series from Lenovo. The Spectre x360 also has three USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, an HDMI port, and a Mini DisplayPort.
The Spectre x360 aluminum unibody is carefully chiseled by computer numerical control (CNC) machines, a process used by the aerospace industry. The device is just 15.9mm thick and weighs around 1.48kg.
With the unique 360 degree mechanism, you can use it in four modes including tablet model when completely folded.
The Core i5 model with 4GB RAM and 128GB SSD is priced $899, while the Core i7 with 8GB RAM and 256GB SSD is priced $1149. The pricing goes up to $1399 for the top end variant with 512GB SSD.
There is no mention on global availability as of now. Stay tuned for more updates from MWC 2015.
