Motorola has unveiled the new Moto E or Moto E 2015 version last month and there are few upgrades to the existing version which was released back in May 2014. The first generation Moto E had created a huge buzz in the budget segment with impressive specs. The Moto E 2015 features a 4.5 inch qHD display and is powered by a 1.2Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 Quad Core Processor (first generation was powered by Dual core processor) or 1.2Ghz Snapdragon 200 Quad Core Processor (3G variant).
There is 1GB RAM and 8GB internal storage, up from 4GB on the first gen. This is also the first 64 bit device from Motorola (only the 4G LTE variant). The device will also ship with Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The company has launched both the 3G variant in India. Except for the processor, rest all features are same on both the devices. Similar to other Motorola phones, the Moto E will also be Flipkart exclusive and few days back we had reported that 3G variant will be available for Rs 6999, the same pricing as that of 2014 variant. The new Moto E also comes with water resistant coating and also has front camera, which was missing in 1st generation model.
Specifications of Moto E 2015:
- 4.5 inch qHD display ( 960 X 540 pixels)
- 1.2 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 quad-core CPU (3G)
- 1GB RAM
- 8GB internal storage, expandable via microSD card
- Android 5.0 Lollipop

Compared to early 2014, the Indian mobile market has changed a lot especially with release of Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G, Yureka and Lenovo A6000 and all these devices comes with 4G support. We will have to wait and see how the sales of Moto E goes. But one good thing about Moto E is that there is no flash sales like other companies and devices will be available based on stock.
