Lava Mobiles, the Indian mobile OEM, has announced a new Android smartphone in the Iris Series, the Lava Iris Icon. The Iris series have produced some great devices in the form of Iris X8 and Iris X1 and now Lava has launched Iris Icon with good specs. The Iris Icon has lot of similarities with the X8, but the camera has been made better on the Icon.
The Iris Icon features a 5 inch HD display (1280 X 720p) and has ASAHI Dragontrail Glass material which makes highly durable and scratch resistant. It has 294 pixels per inch (PPI) display.
Lava has made the design better with a stylish look and it is just 7.7 mm thin and has a metallic finish. The phone is powered by a Quad core ARM Mali 400 MP2 processor with 2GB RAM. On the imaging front, the camera is 13MP rear camera with an aperture range of f2.0 along with Sony EXMOR image sensor. The rear camera has a dual LED flash and there is also a 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone comes with 16GB of internal storage which is expandable via microSD card.
The phone runs Android 4.4 KitKat and company has not mentioned anything on the upgrade to Android Lollipop 5.0. The phone supports dual SIM card and 3G, there is no 4G available on the phone. There is also 2500mAh battery included in the device.
