Design wise the device looks a lot like the Lumia 630 which was launched last year. With the Lumia 640, the Cyan color makes an comeback to the Lumia series. The color was really popular when the Lumia 800 was first announced by Microsoft. The company has not changed the design language of Lumia series and it comes with power and volume keys on the right side, the 3.5mm audio jack sits on the top and the micro USB is at the bottom. The rear panel has a glossy finish and slightly curved towards the edges to give a better grip on the device.
The rear panel houses the 8MP camera with flash, Microsoft logo and also speaker located at the bottom. But unlike the camera on Lumia 730, the 640 camera does not have a dedicated mic.
The front panel has the 5 inch HD display, 1MP camera, usual set of sensors. The device does not have capacitive buttons instead they are on screen similar to Lumia 630 and Lumia 730.
The phone comes with a 5 inch HD display with a resolution of 1280 X 720p and has IPS LCD panel. The touch response is very good and so are the viewing angles. There isn’t any change in colors when he display is tilted. The phone comes with dual SIM card and has 3G support. The 4G LTE variant might be coming at a later stage. The phone also comes with 8GB internal storage which is expandable to 128GB via micro SD card.
The phone is powered by Quad core Snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB RAM. The performance was good on the device and did not have any lags in the first use. There is also 2500mAh battery included in the device which is removable similar to other mid range Lumia devices.
The device is priced Rs 11999 and available on Flipkart. We will have the detailed review coming up on our blog soon, meanwhile do check out our YouTube channel for more videos on this device.
