Lenovo has launched yet another budget smartphone in the A series, the A5000 in India. The A5000 has lot of similarities in terms of specs to the A6000 which was available exclusively on Flipkart. The Lenovo A5000 comes with a 5 inch HD IPS LCD display with 5 point multi touch. The device is powered by a MediaTek MT6582 1.3GHz Quad Core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM.
There is 8GB internal storage included in the device which is expandable via micro SD card to 32GB.
On the imaging front, the A5000 has the same 8MP rear camera with LED flash and the 2MP front camera for selfies found on the A6000. On the software side, the device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the Vibe UI. But unlike the A6000 and A6000 Plus, there is no 4G LTE support on this device. The phone is upgradable to Android 5.0 Lollipop.
The most interesting aspect of the device is the 4000mAh battery which should be really good enough for more than 1.5 days. The Lenovo A5000 also comes with splash-proof nano coating which means it can take a little bit wet in its stride.
The phone supports 3G and comes with dual SIM card support.
Coming to the pricing, the phone is priced Rs 9999 and available on the Lenovo’s online store, ThedoStore. While the pricing is slightly higher for a non 4G device, the availability and higher battery capacity is the strong aspects of this phone. You can pre-order the device from here, shipping on April 29th.
