Here is the unboxing video of the device.
Design wise the device is uniformly flat on both the front and back. Sandwiching together is a metal band around the sides of the phone and this band is looks elegant. Huawei Honor 6 Plus employs this glass-like material over its front and rear. The body has a patterned finish and there is no Huawei branding, so the company wants to keep the Honor brand separated from Huawei branding. Overall, the device feels good, but the weight is on the higher side.
Honor 6 Plus features a 5.5-inch 1080 x 1920 Full HD display which is pretty sharp and vivid. The colors look really good and the viewing angles are also pretty decent. The touch response was also good. The phone comes with dual SIM card support and has 4G LTE in India.
The phone runs on Android 4.4 KitKat with the company’s Emotion UI 3.0 which is a customized one. The look and feel of the UI is pretty decent, but may not be everyone’s liking. Huawei Honor 6 Plus is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Kirin 925 chipset coupled with 3GB of RAM. In the initial testing we found the phone to be very response and there was no lags. The company has already mentioned that this device would be getting the Android Lollipop 5.0 update in the coming months.
One of the highlights of the device is the dual camera set up. The phone has a dual 8-megapixel cameras at the rear and it can capture 13-megapixel photos. One of the cameras feature f/2.0 aperture and auto-focus, while the other one has f/2.4 aperture and a fixed focus setup. Now the best feature is that you can take a photo and then come back to change the focus area and it works very well. There is also a 8MP front camera for selfies which is pretty good too.
The Huawei Honor 6 Plus comes in Black, White/Gold (LTE model) and is priced at Rs 26999. The phone comes with 32GB on board storage which is expandable and also 4G LTE support. We will have detailed review coming soon.
