Lenovo had joined the flash sale model on Flipkart with the A6000 which was first announced at the CES 2015. It went on sale in India in Jan 2015 and was a massive hit selling close to 3,00,000 devices in short span. With the success of A6000, the company launched the A6000 Plus with upgraded specs. Lenovo A6000 Plus comes with 5 inch HD IPS Display (1280 X 20P) and is powered by 1.2 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with Adreno 306 GPU.
The phone has 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage which is expandable via micro SD card. On the imaging front the device sports a 8MP rear camera and 2MP front camera. It supports 4G LTE in India. We have the device with and here is the unboxing of the device along with first impressions.
Here is the unboxing video.
Inside the box:
- Lenovo A6000 Plus
- Earphone
- Power Adaptor
- USB Cable
- Screen protector
- Battery
- Warranty and manuals
Design wise, the device is pretty decent although there isn’t any refreshing design. But it is acceptable for a budget category. There is no change with respect to design when compared to the Lenovo A6000. The power and volume keys are on the right side, while the micro USB charging slot and 3.5 mm audio jack are placed on the top. The rear panel houses the 8MP camera with LED flash, Lenovo branding and Dolby speakers at the the bottom.
The front panel houses the 5 inch HD display, 2MP front camera and the three capacitive buttons at the bottom, but they are not backlit. The matte finish rear panel looks pretty decent and the overall build quality of the device is good.
The display on the device is a 5 inch HD display (720P) which is an IPS LCD. The display looks pretty good and the brightness levels are impressive. The touch response was just average, but we need to use it more to see how it goes. The phone has 2300mAh battery and dual SIM card support. The SIM card 1 has 4G LTE and 3G support while slot 2 is only 2G.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with 2GB RAM. The performance of the device was pretty good in the first boot. The processor is a 64bit and runs Android KitKat 4.4.4. The phone has Vibe UI, but it is a bit different from the UI on Vibe X2 as the options are less on this device. The camera interface of the device is impressive and there is pretty good amount of options available. The phone comes with 16GB internal storage and out of which 11.91GB is available in the first boot. The performance should be better than the A6000 with 1GB RAM.
Overall, for a price of Rs 7499, the device looks solid and value for money especially the specs it offers and will give tough competition for Redmi 2 and Moto E (both with 1GB RAM and 8GB storage). We will have the detailed review coming up on our blog soon, meanwhile do check out our YouTube channel for more videos on this device.
