Design wise, the device is pretty company and comes with a great build quality. The device has matte finish rear panel and although made from plastic, it feels premium. The device has curved edge and is light weight and good in hands. The power and volume keys are on the right side and have been given chrome finishing. The micro USB charging slot is at the bottom and 3.5 mm audio jack are placed on the top. The rear panel houses the 13MP rear camera with dual tone LED flash, Mi branding and the speaker located at the bottom.
The front panel houses the 5 inch Full HD display, 2MP front camera and the three capacitive buttons at the bottom, but they are not backlit. The matte finish rear panel looks very good decent and the overall build quality of the device is good.
The display on the device is a 5 inch Full HD display (1080p) which is an IPS LCD and comes with sunlight display feature. The display looks very good and is vibrant as well as sharp and the brightness levels are also impressive. The touch response was also very good. The phone has 3000mAh battery and dual SIM card support and has dual mode 4G LTE support.
The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with 2GB RAM. The performance of the device was very good in the first boot. The processor is a 64bit and runs Android 5.0 Lollipop and is also the first device from Xiaomi running Lollipop. The phone has MIUI 6 and the camera interface of the device is also impressive and there is pretty good amount of options available, similar to flagship Mi4. The phone comes with 16GB internal storage and out of which 10.91GB is available in the first boot, which is kind of disappointing as the device does not have micro SD expansion slot.
Overall, for a price of Rs 12999, the device looks solid and value for money. We will have the detailed review coming up on our blog soon, meanwhile do check out our YouTube channel for more videos on this device.
I am going to purchase Xiaomi Mi4i asap, when it will available in market.
