PhiComm is the latest entrant into the smartphone market in India. The company is relatively a small player in China and we already covered on the launch of the company’s first device in India, the Passion 660.
The PhiComm Passion 660 features a inch Full HD Display and is powered by the Snapdragon 615 Octa core processor with 2GB RAM, which is similar to what is being offered on Xiaomi Mi4i. On the camera, the Passion 660 comes with 13MP rear camera and a front facing 5MP camera. The phone has Adreno 405 GPU and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat. The phone also packs 32GB internal storage along with microSD card support. Here is our hands on from the event.
Design wise, the device looks pretty decent with a slim profile with uniform thickness and it made of magnesium alloy and feels pretty good in hands. The material finishing looks pretty good as well. It has a unibody design with non removable back panels. But the overall build is just average.
The display is 5 inch Full HD panel, but it isn’t as vibrant as the mi4i, touch response was good. The viewing angles are pretty good .
The phone packs a 13MP rear camera and 5MP front camera which is in tune with what the competition offers. The camera interface looks decent, we will have a detailed test of the camera when we review the device.
Software UI which is Android 4.4 looks smooth in the first use. There is also promised upgrade to Android Lollipop.
The phone also packs 4G LTE support along with 2,300mAh battery. The device just 7.4mm thick and weighs 110 gms which is pretty light weight. The battery capacity seems lower for the phone, but we need to test it to find the real performance.
