Gionee has unveiled the latest flagship phone for the company under the Elife E series, the all new Elife E8. The Elife E7 was announced in 2013 and was a great performer and now the company has announced the successor with amazing specs. The new flagship device, Elife E8 features a 6-inch Quad HD display with a resolution of 1440 x 2560p. It is powered by the 64-bit MediaTek MT6795 SoC which is a true octa-core 2GHz CPU coupled with 3GB of RAM.
While the E7 has Snapdragon 800 SoC, Gionee has gone with MediaTek for E8. It also comes with 64GB internal storage which is expandable via micro SD card.
The phone comes with a 23MP rear camera with dual LED flash and this camera is capable of recording videos in 4K resolution. There is also an 8MP camera on front for selfies and video chats. The camera is also capable of taking images in up to 100-megapixel in resolution. Another feature of this flagship phone is that a fingerprint scanner is on back of the unit which is first of its kind from Gionee.
The phone is powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop and has the custom Amigo UI from the company. The Amigo UI is version 3.1 which is improved from S7. There is 4G LTE support along with dual SIM card support. The phone is 9.6 mm thick and weigh 204.4 grams. It is powered by a 3500mAh battery which is pretty good capacity considering the specs.
The phone is priced at around 3999 RMB which comes to approx Rs 41500 or $645. The GioneeElife E8 goes on sale starting July 15 and will become available across other regions including India.
