Micromax has been teasing a new device on their social sites and today they have launched their flagship device, the Micromax Canvas Sliver 5. The Canvas Sliver 5 comes with a 4.8 inch HD display which has an AMOLED panel and is powered by 1.2Ghz Quad Core Snapdragon 410 64 bit processor with 2GB RAM. The processor is now a popular one among most of the budget smartphones. It also comes with 16GB internal storage.
The USP of the device is the thickness, at 5.1mm Micromax claims it to be the slimmest devices available right now.
On the camera front, the phone packs a 8MP rear camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. Being the slimmest phone in the world, there are some downsides for this device, the phone comes with no expandable storage and just features 16GB internal memory. There is also no support for dual SIM cards. But there is 4G LTE support on the single SIM card.
The phone runs Android 5.0 out of the box and also packs a 2000mAh battery. We feel the device is slightly on the lower side in terms of specs and it competes directly with Gionee Elife S5.1 which has similar specs without 4G LTE.
Price and Availability:
The phone is priced Rs 17999 and will be available both offline and online starting July. We feel the device is over priced comparing other devices including Mi4 and OnePlus One which has better specs. But as said before, the USP of the device is the thickness.
