We covered the launch of Meizu’s flagship phone, the MX5, but it is not just Meizu who has unveiled the flagship device. Huawei has also announced the new flagship under the Honor branding, the Huawei Honor 7. The new Honor 7 is the successor of Honor 6 Plus launched last year. The Honor 7 comes with a 5.2 inch Full HD display with a pixel density of 423ppi.
The phone is powered by the 64-bit Kirin 935 chipset while clocking the speed at 2.2 GHz and this is an in-house processor. The phone also packs 3GB of RAM.
The device comes in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB internal storage along with micro SD card expansion slot. The phone has a metallic chassis and has a thickness of 8.5mm and weighs 157gms. The Honor 7 runs Android 5.0 Lollipop with Huawei’s Emotion UI v3.1 on top.
The phone comes with a 3100mAh battery with fast charging allowing you to charge the phone to full in 1 hour and 25 minutes or charge to 50% in just 30 minutes.
Additionally, the phone also comes with a fingerprint sensor below the rear camera which can be used as a method to unlock the phone and make secure payments.The phone packs a 20 MP rear camera and Phase Detection Auto Focus allowing it to focus on a subject in just 0.1 seconds. There is also a 8MP front camera.
Honor 7 comes with all the connectivity options including NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi (2.4GHz – 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS and LTE. The phone also comes with dual SIM cards.
Price and Availability:
Honor 7 will go one sale on July 7th in China for a price tag of $322 for the base variant. The 32GB variant is priced $354 and the 64GB variant comes for $402. Global roll out is not yet mentioned, but we expect this device to come to India later this year.
