Meizu has launched their new flagship device, the MX5 at an event in Beijing, China. The device comes with 5.5 inch Full HD Super AMOLED display (1080p) with 401ppi and 500 nits of brightness. The device is powered by the MediaTek Helio X10 MT6795T SoC with octa-core CPU. The phone also comes with 3GB of RAM and supported with 16GB internal storage which is expandable via micro SD card.
The main USP of the device is the full metallic body and is 7.9mm thick and weighs just 149gms.
The phone will run on Flyme OS 4.5 which is a custom OS from company on top of Android 5.0 Lollipop. The new version of Flyme comes with some great features including transparency, glass effects, themes and more.
On the imaging front, the Meizu MX5 comes with 20.7MP rear camera capable of 4K video capture and a front facing camera of 5MP with full HD recording for selfies and video calls. There is also laser autofocus which is pretty fast at 0.2 seconds. The phone supports 4G LTE and has dual SIM cards.
The phone also features quick charging where in you can get 50% of the charge in just 30 minutes. The phone packs a 3,150mAh battery which is pretty good capacity.
Pricing and Availability:
The 16GB variant of the phone is priced at 1799 yuan (Rs 18,500 approx), the 32GB variant is priced 1999 Yuan which is approx Rs 20500 and the 64GB variant is 2399 yuan, approx Rs 24,500. It will be available in China for sale starting July 5.
