After announcing the A series early this year including the A7, A5 and A3, the company has now launched yet another phone in the A series, the Samsung Galaxy A8. The Galaxy A8 has been rumoured for quite some time now and the company has made it official. The company has finally launched this device officially in China. The device packs a 5.7 inch Full HD (1920 X 1080P) AMOLED display and runs on a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM.
There is 16GB internal storage along with microSD card support up to 128GB.
The phone is one of the powerful mid range devices for the company and is also the slimmest phone for Samsung. The phone is just 5.9mm thin and packs a metallic body which gives a premium look for the device. The runs on the the most recent version of Samsung’s TouchWiz on top of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop, and also comes with a fingerprint scanner integrated into the physical home button.
On the imaging front, the device packs a 16MP rear camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture. There is also a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. The device has extremely thin bezels making the device look premium.
The phone has 4G LTE connectivity and a 3,050mAh battery.
The device has been launched in China for now, where it’s now available for pre-order in Black, White and Gold color options. There is no mention on the global availability as of now.
