Last year, OnePlus launched their first flagship killer device, the OnePlus One which went on to become huge success for the company and sold in good numbers considering it was available only via invite system. Today the company has launched the successor of the device, the OnePlus 2.
OnePlus 2 is one of the most hyped devices for this year and it does pack powerful hardware. The phone features a 5.5 inch Full HD display and the the screen of the OnePlus 2 has a contrast ratio of 1500:1, meaning blacker blacks and brighter, bolder colors.
The device is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 processor with 4GB DDR3 RAM. The phone runs on Oxygen OS which is a custom OS on top of Android 5.1. OnePlus has concentrated on the design aspects and it is made of metal. The outer frame of the device is crafted from a strong and lightweight aluminum alloy and there is no logo on the front panel. The buttons are customizable.
The phone has a 13MP rear camera with sensor pixel size of 1.3 microns, 35% larger than standard smartphone cameras. There is better and faster focusing and also Optical Image Stabilization. It can record videos in 4k resolution and also capture slow-motion video at 120fps, or use time lapse mode.
The company has added USB Type-C charging and data transfer on the device. There is also fingerprint sensor on the OnePlus 2 which is easy to use and stores up to 5 unique fingerprints, and extremely fast. The phone also features a dedicated hardware switch, Alert Slider which offers quick switching between notification settings. There is dual SIM card support with dual 4G LTE. The phone also packs a 3300mAh battery.
The phone comes in classic Sandstone Black back cover, with 4 StyleSwap Covers: Bamboo, Black Apricot, Rosewood, and Kevlar. Sales of the device will start in the US, Canada, India, EU, and China on August 11! It will roll out in Southeast Asia in Q4 of 2015. The device is priced $329 for the 16GB variant and $389 for the 64GB variant. The Indian pricing is Rs 22,999 (16GB) and Rs 24,999 (64GB). The 16GB variant has 3GB RAM and will not be going on sale on 11th August.
