At the ASUS Zen Festival event in New Delhi, the company had announced new phones including the Zenfone 2 Deluxe, Zenfone Selfie and Zenfone 2 Laser. Along with these devices, the company also announced their first ever global launch in India, the ASUS Zenfone Max (ZC550KL).
The speciality of the device is the massive 5000mAh battery included in the device and this should give competition to the newly announced Gionee Marathon M4.
The Zenfone Max comes with 5.5-inch IPS HD (1280 x 720p) display with wide viewing angles, protected by the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 4 for unrivalled scratch-resistance, strength and everyday durability. It is powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with up to 2GB of RAM.
The phone comes in 8GB and 16GB variants with expandable storage option via microSD card.
ZenFone Max features a 13MP PixelMaster cameras with a wide f/2.0 aperture, and the rear camera also boasts laser auto-focus for sharp, near-instant shots. There is also 5MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone can be used as a power bank to charge other devices. The phone comes with dual SIM card support and has 4G LTE in India. There is no pricing announced, but the device will go on sale in October which is more than 2 months from now.
The pricing of the device is the key as there might be also Marathon M5 launching soon which has a 6020mAh battery.
